Who We Are and Why This Page Exists

Set out below is what information reaches us, how it gets here, and what happens to it afterwards. Both halves of the business are covered, meaning this website and the work carried out at the roadside. We have kept it short and stripped the legal padding out, on the view that a policy nobody finishes reading protects nobody.

Information You Give Us When Booking

A quote rests on four answers. What the vehicle is, what year it was built, whether anything at all still opens or starts it, and the spot where it is currently sitting. Sending somebody out needs one more, a name and a phone number to reach you on. Book through the form here instead of by voice and it asks for those same things plus an email address, and from the vehicle details we work out whether you are looking at a plain cut key or at fob programming. Certain makes also require the identification number off the car, because on those there is no other dependable route to the correct part. None of it is asked out of idle interest. Drop any one answer and the job can be neither priced nor found.

Proof of Ownership Before Work Starts

Nothing gets cut or programmed until the technician has looked at two documents: a driver's license, plus any one of a registration, a title or an insurance card. Three details are written down and no more, those being the vehicle identification number, the license number, and the name printed on the paperwork. Your license is neither photographed nor copied, and nothing resembling an image of it survives on a technician's phone once the visit is over. Prefer to watch the details go down by hand? And law enforcement, in response to a lawful request about a particular vehicle. Nothing is sold. Nothing is rented. Nothing is traded, and nothing goes to anybody for advertising.

How the Quote Form Actually Behaves

Unusual enough to state outright: the form here writes to no server of ours, because there is no server of ours behind it. The button packages your entries into a draft and passes that draft to whichever mail application your phone or computer already uses. Until you press send yourself, nothing has gone anywhere. Once you do, it leaves through your own email account like any other message you write. Route the form through an outside service at some later date and we will name that service here first, not afterwards.

Cookies, Analytics and the One Outside Request

No cookies are set by these pages. No advertising pixels run on them. No analytics package sits behind them recording where you go. One request does leave for a server that is not ours, and it fetches the typeface from Google Fonts, which means Google sees the IP address your browser connects from in the way it would for any font request anywhere. Should that trouble you, the fonts already installed on your device render every page here perfectly legibly.

How Long Records Stay With Us

Around seven years for a completed job, that being the window warranty, accounting and tax duties sensibly point to. Enquiries that never became jobs get thrown out as soon as it is plain the work is not happening. Want yours erased before the seven years are up? Say so and it will be, unless a legal duty stands in the way.

Keeping It Safe, and Telling You If We Fail

Reach is limited to the people who cannot do their job without it, and reasonable measures protect what sits in our hands. No arrangement is flawless, and we are not about to pretend ours is the exception. If sensitive personal information of yours were ever caught up in a breach, you would hear it from us without unreasonable delay, and where the scale of the thing required it, the Texas Attorney General would hear it too, as the Texas Identity Theft Enforcement and Protection Act requires.

Your Rights Under Texas Law

Residents of this state hold a specific list of rights under the Texas Data Privacy and Security Act. Confirmation of whether personal data about you is being processed, and a copy of it. Correction of anything inaccurate. Erasure. And an opt out covering three things: targeted advertising, the sale of personal data, and profiling used in decisions that carry legal effects. Those last three are moot in our case, since none of them describe anything we do. To exercise any of it, use the address and number at the bottom of this page. Forty five days is our limit for answering, and we may first need enough detail to be confident the request is really yours. Refuse a request and you can appeal simply by replying to the refusal. Should that appeal fail as well, a complaint to the Texas Attorney General is open to you.

Residents of Other States

Similar statutes exist elsewhere, and whichever one covers where you live may grant you comparable rights. Any valid request made under one of them is treated no differently here from a Texas request.

Children

Our customers own cars, and no part of this site is pitched at children. Personal information is not knowingly gathered from anybody under thirteen.

Changes to This Policy

Change how we work and this page changes to match, with the date above moving forward accordingly. Material changes get spelled out here, not slipped through unannounced.
